We do not require any private information to use the app for basic use; we only collect what you provide or what is necessary for the features you use. Ikisaki is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

When you use Ikisaki, we may collect the following information:

  • Account Information: If you create an account, we collect your name and email address.
  • Device Information: For anonymous users, we tie usage to your device ID.
  • Usage and Analytics Information: We use PostHog to collect data for product analytics and improving the app. This includes device identifiers for usage attribution, behavior analytics (e.g. feature use and interactions such as button presses), session replay (recordings and screenshots of app sessions), feature-usage analytics, and error monitoring. This helps us understand how the app is used, fix issues, and improve the experience.
  • Payment Information: Subscription payments are processed securely via Apple or Google; we do not store full payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and, to help Apple assess an App Store refund request, may also process limited information about the relevant purchase, including its delivery status, entitlement status, and whether a trial or product information was provided before purchase.

2. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to provide and improve the App, manage subscriptions and in-app purchases, and monitor app performance. Data collected via PostHog (analytics, session recordings, feature-usage data, and error reports) is used to understand how the app is used, improve our product, identify and fix technical issues, and enhance your experience.

Analytics

Ikisaki collects usage statistics, session replay, and feature-usage data only to improve the app. We do not use this data for advertising or sell it. Our analytics provider (PostHog) processes data in the EU.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising. We share personal information only with service providers and platforms that need it to provide the App, process purchases, or meet a request you have authorized, as described in this policy.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on infrastructure located in the United States. Our analytics provider (PostHog) operates in the EU. We implement reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

Data Retention

We retain your account and trip data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider’s (PostHog’s) default retention settings.

6. Information for European Union Customers

If you are in the European Union or EEA: Our main infrastructure is in the United States; our analytics provider (PostHog) processes data in the EU. You have rights over your data under applicable law—contact us at [email protected] to exercise them or with any questions.

7. International Transfers

Your information may be processed, stored, or used in countries other than your own. Data privacy laws vary by jurisdiction.

8. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with PostHog for product analytics, session recording (including screenshots of app usage), behavior and feature-usage analytics, and error monitoring. We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat processes refund-request information to provide that information to Apple. Our website uses Plausible for anonymized analytics to understand how the site is used; we do not use advertising cookies. These services collect and process data only for these purposes. 9. In-App Purchases

All subscription payments are processed via Apple or Google. Refunds and disputes are handled according to their respective platform policies. Apple makes the final decision on App Store refund requests.

Apple Refund Request Handling

By using the App and making in-app purchases, you consent to our sharing information about your usage and consumption of purchased content with Apple through RevenueCat, our subscription-management service provider, to help resolve refund requests. This information may include details of how you accessed and interacted with the purchased content, including delivery and entitlement status, whether trial content or product information was available before purchase, and our refund preference. We share this information only as necessary for Apple to assess the refund request; Apple makes the final decision.

10. Changes to Privacy Policy

Ikisaki may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

11. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Croatia.

12. Forwarding Booking Confirmation Emails

You can forward your booking confirmation emails to a designated email address (e.g., [email protected]). When you do, Ikisaki automatically analyzes the contents of these emails to extract travel details such as lodging or flight booking information. This information is then added to your Ikisaki account to help you manage your travel plans. Ikisaki uses this information solely to provide and improve your travel experience and will not share it for advertising purposes.
